<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Components of Platinum Communication<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Level 1: Know Your Audience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Level 1 of our framework contains only a single\ncomponent.&nbsp; It is the \u2018bulls-eye\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L1C1<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Know Your Audience<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For any situation, take as much time as you can to get to know the audience.\u00a0 The challenge of discovering the values, beliefs, culture, feelings, and your relationship increases with audience size.\u00a0 Failing to know your audience inhibits your relationship.\u00a0 Knowing your audience enhances your engagement.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Level 2: Know Yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Level 2 of our framework contains 2 components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L2C2 Know Yourself<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing\nyourself is an emotional and intellectual task.&nbsp;\nKnowing what makes you tick internally and externally is required to be\ngenuine and authentic.&nbsp; Knowing what\ntriggers your gratitude, anger, helpfulness, sadness, and responsiveness is the\nstart of discovering the real you.&nbsp; It\u2019s\na daily task that never ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L2C3 Deepen Self-Awareness<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing yourself deeper.\u00a0 When do your thoughts and values revert to long established default patterns?\u00a0 What puts a smile on your face?\u00a0 When do you hide stuff from your closest friends?\u00a0 When do you change information to suit your image?\u00a0 What do you do to influence others?\u00a0 What questions do you dislike being asked?\u00a0 What prompts passive or aggressive behavior?\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Level 3: Know Others<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Level 3 of our framework contains 3 components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L3C4 Discover\/Acknowledge Perspectives of Others<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Perspective is a way of regarding a person, situation, or subject.&nbsp; Knowing others involves true understanding of\nwhat the other is seeing, hearing, feeling, believing. &nbsp;Active listening is required as you probe\ndeeper and deeper into the values of the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L3C5 Acknowledge Differences without Judgment<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Differences occur because we each care deeply about our mindset, values,\npeople, or things.&nbsp; Remember these things\nare as important to others as yours are to you.&nbsp;\nRespect differences in others.&nbsp;\nJudgment often happens when we ask WHY questions.&nbsp; \u201cWhy did you come home late?\u201d is often spoken\nin anger and is a judgment, not a question.&nbsp;\nA non-judgmental approach is to ask an information question: \u201cWhat\nhappened last night?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L3C6 Use the Language of Others<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Listening to the words and meanings of others is a strenuous task.\u00a0 If the person\u2019s words are ambiguous, raise your hand and say, \u201cI\u2019m sorry to interrupt.\u00a0 I just do not understand what I heard.\u00a0 Would you mind telling me what you want me to know?\u201d\u00a0 Use their words to state their point back to them to see if you are following properly.\u00a0 Likewise, when you are speaking, ask regularly whether they are understanding what you are saying.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Level 4: Create Collaborative Partnerships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Level 4 of\nour framework contains 4 components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L4C7 Create a Place of Comfort\/Safety and Overcome Fear<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Comfort is a powerful word meaning \u201cwith strength,\u201d or \u201cstrengthen to\nproduce physical ease\u201d.&nbsp; When\ncomfortable, we become open, caring, and sharing.&nbsp; A place of comfort is a place of safety, and\nwe communicate in a comfortable, trusting, and safe manner.&nbsp; Trust trumps Fears which are always lurking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L4C8 Practice Emotional Intelligence and Empathy<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Emotional Intelligence is how you handle relationships with others:\nsincere interest, language, tone of voice, and body language.&nbsp; Empathy is the ability to understand and\nshare the feelings of others.&nbsp; The\npurpose of listening is understanding.&nbsp;\nWhen you are understood or when you understand another person, you make\na connection.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L4C9 Practice Educare (Ask Before Telling) <\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of us are born of parents and teachers who tell us what is good for\nus.&nbsp; Do this.&nbsp; Do that.&nbsp;\nEducare is used by master teachers who ask first, then tell only if\nthere are gaps in the information provided by the student.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>L4C10 Create Working Partnerships<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Partnership\nenhances cooperation, connection, and collaboration.&nbsp; Partnerships are not established to fix\nothers.&nbsp; The camaraderie established in a\nserious and sincere partnership results in compacts that are difficult to\nbreak.&nbsp; Partnerships are built on trust,\nmutual respect, and&nbsp; good will. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Conclusion<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Platinum Communication is not just another option.&nbsp; It is the standard by which all interactions\nwill be judged.&nbsp; Responsible\ncommunicators provide reasons for beliefs and emotions and accept the consequences\nof decisions.&nbsp; Platinum communicators do\nnot hide behind unsubstantiated information and\/or vague statements.&nbsp; Transparency is the key to effective\ncommunication and therefore relationships.&nbsp;\nThis is practice that begins to change the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allow yourself freedom to think differently about every word\nyou speak \u2013 verbally and non-verbally \u2013 and assure others you are sincere about\nestablishing a meaningful relationship.&nbsp;
